Building work

Building work in Milton Keynes, finished by the people who plaster it.

Most building work ends in plastering. When the same firm does both, there is no gap between the builder leaving and the plasterer starting, and nobody to blame the finish on.

One firm, start to finish

The wall comes out and the plaster goes on. Same people.

Knock-throughs, partitions and conversions all end up waiting for a plasterer. We do both halves, so the job runs straight through and the finish is ours to answer for.

  • Free estimate and a clear price
  • Building and plastering on one job
  • No waiting between trades
  • Working alongside your own builder if you have one
  • Rubbish removed as we go
  • All work guaranteed

01 / Knock-throughs

Knock-throughs & open-plan

Opening a kitchen into the dining room, or a lounge through to a conservatory, is one of the biggest changes you can make to a house. It is also a job with a lot of mess and a lot of making good afterwards.

We take the wall out, put the beam in, board the ceiling where the wall was and plaster the lot, so the finished room looks like it was built that way.

  • Wall removal
  • Beams and lintels fitted
  • Ceilings boarded where walls were
  • Floors and walls made good
  • Full replaster of the new space
  • Rubbish taken away

A through-lounge freshly skimmed, with a boxed beam across the ceiling and doors out to a conservatory

02 / Stud walls

Stud walls, partitions & doorways

A stud wall turns one big bedroom into two, or makes room for an en-suite. We frame it, board it and skim it, and paint it once it is dry if you want the room finished.

New doorways formed and lined, old doorways blocked up and plastered flush with the wall either side.

  • Timber stud partitions
  • Sound insulation in the wall
  • New door openings formed
  • Old doorways blocked up
  • Boxing in pipes and steels
  • Boarded and skimmed

A small room skimmed floor to ceiling around a tall patterned-glass window

03 / Media walls

Media walls & alcove shelving

A media wall hides the cables, gives the TV a proper home and takes an inset electric fire. We build the frame, board it, cut in the recesses and plaster it smooth.

Alcove shelving and built-in niches done the same way. Tell us the size of the TV and the fire and we will build round them.

  • Framed and boarded media walls
  • Recesses for TV and fire
  • Built-in alcove shelving
  • Cable routes hidden in the wall
  • LED strip recesses
  • Skimmed, and painted if you want

Built-in alcove shelving and a media recess plastered and left to dry

04 / Extensions & conversions

Extensions, lofts & conversions

An extension or a loft room is not finished until the inside is. We board and plaster the new space, the reveals round the bifolds and the light wells under the roof lanterns.

Conservatories with a new solid roof need the same: the ceiling boarded and skimmed, and the walls brought up to match, so it feels like part of the house rather than a lean-to.

  • Extension fit-out
  • Loft rooms and dormers
  • Conservatory ceilings
  • Roof lantern and rooflight wells
  • Garage and garden room conversions
  • Working alongside your builder

A loft bedroom under a sloping ceiling, with new plaster along the base of the wall

05 / Refurbishment

Kitchen & room refurbishment

Before a new kitchen goes in, the room usually needs taking back: old tiles off, wallpaper off, walls patched or replastered and the ceiling redone.

We get it to a clean, flat finish so the kitchen fitter and flooring company can get straight on, and we can paint it once the units are in.

  • Stripping out old finishes
  • Tiles and wallpaper removed
  • Walls and ceilings replastered
  • Ready for kitchen fitters
  • Hallways, stairs and landings
  • Whole-house refurbishment
